Community shows support for first responders

The Oneidas Club would like to publicly thank each and every person who attended our annual Charlie Decker Public Safety Dinner and Awards. Your attendance helps the club support our scholarship program for Criminal Justice students and supports our first responders and crossing guards.

The chiefs of the departments and the principle speaker, Robert Mascari, the Chief Assistant District Attorney for Madison County would make any organization proud. Mr. Mascari’s feeling for first responders was obvious.

Not all the work was done directly by the club members. We owe a grateful thank you to the Oneida Daily Dispatch, PAC 99 and Michael Kaiser’s on-line service, the Oneida Observer for continuous as well as You Tube support. Charles Pritchard’s Dispatch coverage of the event was outstanding.

We would also like to thank the Oneida area merchants who made generous donations to the raffles, as well as all the local businesses, clubs and private persons who placed advertising in the event program.

Food and venue make a tremendous difference in how much an event is enjoyed. Once again, The Kallet Civic Center and Oneida Floral gave us outstanding support.

There can be no doubt that no event goes off as it should without proper planning, extensive follow-up and just plain hard work, for which we thank our Board and members.

Oneidas Club, arguably the oldest of the civic clubs in the city, is active in recognition of excellence in public service and education.
