Community Grant Program supports local non-profits
MORRISVILLE » CORE Federal Credit Union recently awardedanumber of grants to not-for-profit and community organizations located in or serving Madison County through its eighth annual Community Grant Program.
Grant dollars were awarded based on the needs of the organization apply- ing, the program’s projected impact on the community, and the number of requests received. CORE received grant requests from more than 30 groups throughout Madison County totaling more than $23,000.
Thanks to a grant from the New York Credit Union Foundation that provided additional funding for the program, CORE was able to award more than $5,200 to a variety of MadisonCounty not-for-profit groups.
Thirteen groups and organizations were recognized for their dedication to our community and received funds to support a range of philanthropic programs including scholarships, “go-green” initiatives, help with family food insecurity through local food pantries, specialized neonatal medical training, student agriculture education and literacy initiatives, and other community outreach programs.
The following organizations were grant recipients:
American Legion Post No. 1556, Cazenovia Com- munity Pre- School, CazCares Food Pantry, Cazenovia Middle School Friends of Rachel Club, Community Action Partnership (CAP), CommunityMemorialHospital, Cornell Cooperative Extension Madison County, Hamilton Food Cupboard, Madison Baptist Church Food Pantry, Madison County Youth Bureau, Morrisville College Foundation Inc., Morrisville Community Church Food Pantry, Morrisville Public Library.
