ONEIDA » The Greater Oneida Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of The Gas and Oil Grill (formerly the Tuscan Oven) on Friday, June 1.

“The Gas and Oil Grill has been a dream of mine for a long time now,” said owner Dominique Borruso. “The decor speaks to the guests frommy soul as well as — and most importantly — does the food we serve. The past few years have brought an influx of new places to dine to the area, which is great, but my goal is to bring something to the area that will thrive by being unique and something a bit different than what’s already here.”

The Gas and Oil Grill offers craft draft beers and wine, in addition to traditional bottled beers, mixed drinks, and an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages, including new milkshakes. Staff researched food from all over the country, then brought ideas back to their kitchen in Oneida, where hours of testing and experimenting have brought new dishes to life that form the basis of just some of the menu items they plan to offer

Menu highlights include freshly made burgers and buns crafted daily, Hoffman hotdogs topped with homemade pulled pork, baked beans, and coleslaw. The restaurant will continue to serve pizzas from its coalfired oven.

Hours, menus and updates are available on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Borruso said she is excited for this new chapter. “This is a crazy journey that has taken hard work and passion from a team of amazing people around me,” she said. “The support has been inspiring and appreciated. There is nothing more pleasing to me than saying goodbye to the Tuscan Oven, and hello to The Gas and Oil Grill. We hope you enjoy your dining experience with us. Come relax and have fun in our new atmosphere.”
