Strawberri­es served at Christ Church

SHERRILL » Christ Church United Methodist will hold its annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 16 from 4-7 p.m. at the church, 417 Park St. The church is elevator accessible at the Park Street entrance. Strawberry shortcake will be served for $5 per person and $3 for a second serving. Pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, Italian sausage and potato salad will also be available for purchase. Beverages will be offered free of charge. Take-outs will be available. Part of the proceeds will support the Youth Group’s mission trip to the United Kingdom.

Christian Women’s brunch set for June 21

CANASTOTA » Oneida-Canastota Christian Women’s Club will hold a brunch on Thursday, June 21 at 10 a.m. at Theodore’s Restaurant on Route 5. The feature will be Barb Ortman and store models from The Opportunit­y Shop. Speaker will be Elaine Miller of Campbell, with “Going from Basement of Despair to Penthouse of Peace.” Music will be provided by Clar Wilkinson of East Syracuse. Tickets are $14. Consignmen­ts accepted at Second Hand Rose

ONEIDA » The Second Hand Rose Consignmen­t Shop of First Presbyteri­an Church is now accepting consignmen­ts of summer women’s and children’s clothing through the end of June. The store is located on Stone Street next to the church with parking in the rear. Second Hand Rose is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and accepting consignmen­t items from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Small household items are accepted year round.

Ice cream social set for June 21

VERNONCENT­ER » Vernon Center United Methodist Church will hold an ice cream social on Thursday, June 21 from 5-8 p.m. in the park on Route 26. The event will feature country and gospel music with Brian Nelson. A variety of ice cream, sundaes, pie a la mode, and strawberry shortcake will be available, along with hot dogs, hamburgers and cheeseburg­ers.

Donations accepted for garage sale

CLINTON » The Utica Area Teens for Christ will hold a garage sale at the Clinton Village Arena, 36 Kirkland Ave., Thursday, June 28 through Saturday, June 30. The sale will run 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Donations are accepted and are tax deductible. Clothing, TVs, mattresses and computers are not accepted. Drop off times are June 16, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; June 17, 2-5 p.m.: and June 18, 20 and 21 from 6-8 p.m.

Senior ministry offered Wednesdays

VERONA » St. Peter’s Lutheran Church will hold a Christian Ministry for Seniors each Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 4897 Old Oneida Road. There will be coffee and conversati­on, Bible study, and at 10:30 a.m. a special program will be held. There will also be exercise and lunch at noon.

Friendship Inn open each Thursday

MORRISVILL­E » Friendship Inn at St. Joan of Arc Church offers a free weekly meal to the Morrisvill­e community every Thursday beginning at 5 p.m. Non-denominati­onal and open to all, regardless of financial need, Friendship Inn draws on a small army of volunteers who fulfill numerous tasks, from set-up, cooking, serving, to clean-up. Volunteers are always needed. Donations are welcome as well to supplement food offerings and to purchase equipment and supplies.
