Canastota

The Canastota Memorial VFW Post 600, 3835 Canal Road conducts Bingo every Friday at 7 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. Progressive Bonanza, 2 - 60/40 Share the Wealth, pull tabs. Snack bar with food and refreshments. They sell all kinds of flags. For more information call (315) 697-5105.

The Canastota American Legion Auxiliary Unit 140 will meet 7 p.m. at the post home, South Peterboro St., on the third Wednesday of each month, September through May.

The Canastota VFW Post 600 Auxiliary meets at the post home, 3835 Canal Road, Canastota every third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.

Cazenovia

The Cazenovia American Legion Post 88 has flags for sale at the Cazenovia Chamber of Commerce. These are high quality flags made in the USA. They are polyester with hand sewn stars. Prices are $28 for 3x5 foot and $35 for 4x6 foot. They also have cemetery flags for $5 and parade flags for 50 cents available. Chittenango

The William H. Cain American Legion and Auxiliary, 707 Mohawk St., Chittenango will meet at 7:30 p.m. every third Monday of the month.

Munnsville

Munnsville Legion Ladies Auxiliary will host a Father’s Day Breakfast on Sunday, June 17 from 8-11:30 a.m. at the Legion, East Hill Road. Adults $10; ages 5-13, $5; children 4 and younger, free.

Munnsville Legion Post 54 will hold Thursday Night Karaoke at 7 p.m. each week.

Munnsville American Legion will be having Grillin’ & Chillin’ Night each Thursday at 5 p.m. serving hamburgers, sausage links, hot dogs, and macaroni salad.

American Legion Post 1153 will serve wings every Sunday from 3-7 p.m.

Syracuse

The VA has immediate openings for volunteer drivers to transport veterans to medical appointments. Candidates must pass a medical exam, undergo a successful background check, have a valid driver’s license, hold a safe driving record and carry current auto insur- ance. Utica

The CNY Veterans Outreach Center has launched the first ever Veterans Homelessness Prevention Demonstration Project ( VHPD). The VHPD project is a pilot collaborative initiative by HUD, the Department of Labor (DOL), and the Veterans Affairs ( VA) to explore innovative early interventions to help prevent veteran homelessness. While it assists all qualified veterans, the program is targeted to service members returning from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. VHPD assistance is focused on maintaining or accessing stable housing, health care and employment services, either directly or through referral to community resources including: Financial assistance, supportive services, access to VA Health Care Benefits and education and Employment Opportunities. The CNY Veterans Outreach Center was formed to provide and conduct charitable educational, social, and housing services for veterans and their families in need. The Veterans Outreach Center was developed by an Iraqi War veteran who realized there was a lack of services for veterans in Upstate New York. The center serves on average 300 veterans and their families a month. Other services available at the center include: food pantry, access to clothing and household items, outreach, internet access, advocacy and connection to VA benefits. Vernon

The American Legion Auxiliary William Russell Post 404 will meet at 6:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the legion home, West Seneca Street. The Sons of Post 404 will meet at the Legion at 6:30 p.m. every second Monday of the month. The Legion Veterans will meet at Post 404 at 6:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month.

Verona

The Auxiliary of the Verona Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 6811 will meet the third Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Verona VFW, Spring Road.
