Tenney stands up for constituents
I have been following my Congressional representative since she was a newly-elected member of the NYS Assembly. Ms. Tenney, in what seemed like her first day in office, was calling for Sheldon Silver to step down. It turned out he was spending my money to keep sexual accusations out of the public view, and helping to allow the perpetrators of those heinous actions to remain on the prowl, rather than out of Albany.
When Representative Tenney was elected to Congress, I wondered if she would change. It didn’t take long to find out. In her first week in office, she again stood up to the machine, voting against the majority of Republicans in voting to keep independent ethics reviews independent.
Meanwhile her opponent was handpicked by Silver, supported Silver, voted with and for Silver for years, and voted for him to lead the Assembly even after learning of the systematic sexual harassment of women he was helping to brush under the rug. It wasn’t until Silver was indicted that Brindisi said enough is enough.
Representative Tenney has shown us again and again that she is a fighter. We need her fighting for us in Washington, not a yes man.
Tenney won’t listen to all constituents
I discovered a great FB group, called “Town Hall,” which lists all of the elected officials in our state. It is an easy way to contact our representatives and legislators.
I have made many attempts to contact District 22 Congresswoman Claudia Tenney. Once again, using this “Town Hall” site, I emailed her urging her to vote YES on a bill which would ban the use of government funding to separate immigrant children from their parents and warehouse them. I feel this is cruel and unjustified. My email was undeliverable... once again.
I then looked to see if I could post a comment on her web page. Nope. Can I comment on any of her posts? Nope. I looked to see if other legislators allowed constituents to post and comment on their web pages -- YUP.
Claudia has been criticized for not holding town hall meetings. Why is she not communicating with ALL her constituents? What is she afraid of? Does she represent ALL of us?
Feeling blocked and ignored.
