Finger-style guitarist Shawna Caspi will hold a solo performance and workshop for interested musicians.
EARLVILLE, N.Y. » Fingerstyle guitarist Shawna Caspi will hold a solo performance at the Earlville OperaHouse onSaturday, July 7, at 7 p.m.
Caspi will leader a fingers-style guitar workshop before the performance at 2 p.m. This workshop will cover open tunings, pick patterns and percussive elements. Call the EOH at 315691-3550 to register. Admission is $25 for members, and $30 for non-members.
At 7 p.m., Caspi will performin the EOHCourtyard. Her fourth album, “Forest Fire,” released in September 2017, is a collection of songs about burning things down and building them up again. With her songs, Caspi strives to be unafraid, to embolden quieted voices and to tell the truth above all else. She believes in poetry and the power of one person and one instrument.
Caspi is also a visual artist who shares the visual landscapes of her musical travels through painting, creating one-of-a-kind works of art inspired by the scenery she sees on the road. She has sold more than 100 original works and continues to create more. “Forest Fire” features Caspi’s paintings on the front and back cover and throughout the album artwork design. Her original artwork will be on display at the EOH on July 7 only.
Tickets for the 7 p.m. show are $20 general admission; $18 members; college students half off general admission with ID; youths 17 and under are $10. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The EOH Theater is wheelchair-accessible with a ramp and a lift.
