Free lunches for students this summer
Food Service Program
The following local school districts are participating in the Summer Food Service Program: Oneida City School District, Sherrill City School District, and Canastota Central School District.
Meals will be provided to all children ages 18 and younger without charge at the following sites:
J.D. George Elementary School, 5647 E. Main St., Verona, through Aug. 10. Breakfast will be 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch will be from 11:15 a.m. to noon.
Durhamville Elementary School, 5462Main St., Durhamville, July 9 through Aug. 16. Lunch will be from noon to 12:30 p.m.
North Broad Street Elementary School, 230 N. Broad St., Oneida, July 9 through Aug. 16. Lunch will be from noon to 12:30 p.m.
Willard Prior Elementary School, 203 East Ave., Oneida, July 9 through Aug. 16. Lunch will be from noon to 12:30 p.m.
Roberts Street Middle School, 120 Roberts St., Canastota, July 9 through Aug. 17. Breakfast will be 7:45-9 a.m. and lunch will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Program Registration
The NewWoodstock Free Library will hold a registration week for its summer programs from Monday, July 9, through Saturday, July 14. During open hours
that week, information on the programs -- along with sign-up sheers and permission forms -- will be available. Registration is not required that week to attend the programs.
Monday from July 16 through Aug. 20 at 2 p.m. are Kids and Family programs, which include karaoke, sun catchers and a dinosaur party. Tween/Teen programs include Karaoke Party on Saturday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. Adult programs will be a Painting Party on Friday, July 20, at 7 p.m., and a Karaoke Night on Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. Signing up is required for some programs to ensure the library has enough supplies.

Cazenovia Library Events
The Stuffed Animal Sleepover will be held Monday, July 9, at 6 p.m. in the Community Room. Children are invited to bring along their favorite stuffed animal for an evening of stories and activities.
The Cazenovia Public Library will present two free screenings of “A Quiet Place” (2018) on Friday, July 13, at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room. The critically-acclaimed horror thriller was directed and cowritten by John Kissinski, who stars alongside actress Emily Blunt.
In a post-apocalyptic world, a family is forced to live in silence while hiding from sightless creatures with hypersensitive hearing. The film is rated PG-13 and runs 90 minutes. Free popcorn provided. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Cazenovia Public Library.
The library will host the Out of the Cage Pet Mobile on Tuesday, July 17, at 6:30 p.m. The traveling exotic petting zoo allows children to learn about, observe, and touch several different animals.
Syracuse’s Museumof Intrigue presents a special mystery game at the library on Tuesday, July 31, at 6 p.m. To solve the “Toy Shop Mystery,” participants must search for clues and interact with a cast of fun characters.
Families are invited to Stone Quarry Hill Art Park on Friday, Aug. 3, at 6 p.m. for a Fairy House Building Workshop. All materials will be provided. Registration is required.

FreeMovies
At the Oneida Public Library, the Monday Matinee Movie on July 9 at 1 p.m. will be “Crooked House.” This is the OPL’s first summertime movie matinee and is the 2017 film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s whodunnit. “Crooked House” serves up a rich murder victim, a host of suspects in a country mansion, a charming sleuth unlike any other in Christie’s novels, and an astonishing solution. The film features Max Irons, Glenn Close, Terence Stamp and Gillian Anderson. Coffee, iced tea and popcorn will be served.
OnWednesday, July 11, at 6 p.m. the Oneida Public Li- brary’s Throwback Summer Movie Night will feature “The Princess Bride.” This 1987 movie directed by Rob Reiner is based on the book by William Goldman. Popcorn will be provided.
