Creek paddle reschedule­d to July 14 at 9 a.m.

SHERBURNE, N.Y. » Those who thought they missed last month’s paddle excursion with Friends of Rogers will be glad to know the popular program has been reschedule­d.

Join Friends of Rogers at 9 a.m. on July 14 for a scenic paddle down Beaver Creek. Sponsored by Cruz Outdoors, this leisurely outing is perfect for all experience levels.

“We are extremely grateful to Cruz Outdoors for partnering with us this year,” said Simon Solomon, Friends of Rogers executive director. “Generous support from local businesses such as Cruz Outdoors allows us to continue offering high-quality recreation­al programmin­g. Canoeing and kayaking gives boaters the chance to see familiar landscapes from new perspectiv­es.”

Boaters must be at least 13 years of age, and if under age 18, must be accompanie­d by an adult. Space is limited on this excursion and advance reservatio­ns are required. Not-yet-member registrati­on options are: canoe (space for two boaters) $35; kayak $30; and personal vessel $20. Rogers Center on Route 80 in Sherburne. (Inclement weather date for this program is July 15.)

Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmen­tal Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organizati­on that offers educationa­l programs for people of all ages. Summer hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
