Chicken barbecue served July 14

CANASTOTA » The United Church of Canastota, 144 Center St., will host a drive-thru chicken barbecue on Saturday, July 14 starting at 11 a.m. The menu includes a half chicken, salt potatoes, beans, coleslaw, roll and dessert for $10, or $9 with the donation of a non-perishable food item.

Talent show set for July 7

SHERRILL » The Youth Group at Christ Church United Methodist will hold a Mid-Summer Night’s Talent Show on Saturday, July 7 at 7 p.m. at the church, 417 Park St.

Community members are invited to participate; musicians, poets, magicians, dancers, jugglers are welcome. Beverages and homemade desserts will be served. A free will offering will be accepted to benefit the Youth Group’s trip to the United Kingdom this summer.
