‘It’s Easy Being Green’ program
SHERBURNE, N.Y. » On the third Thursday of each month, the public is invited to learn that “It’s Easy Being Green” at Rogers Environmental Education Center.
This new interactive workshop series will explore a variety of topics related to resource use. Each month, participants will explore a new environmental topic, including plastic reduction, composting, and possible conservation actions.
“By offering ‘It’s Easy Being Green,’ our goal is to en- courage dialog,” said Marissa Nolan, senior environmental educator. “Come share your thoughts over coffee and light refreshments.”
Beginning July 19, “It’s Easy Being Green” will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Rogers Environmental Education Center, off State Route 80 in Sherburne. The first session explores the “Recycling Revolution,” and how it affects materials management. The programwill begin with investigating different examples of resource misuse, and how current laws were inf luenced by past environmental mishaps. The conversation includes related changes in legislation, and how modern regulations help ensure effective materials management.
Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for people of all ages. Summer hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
