MORRISVILL­E, N.Y. » The following are August events taking place at the Morrisvill­e Public Library.

The library will be closed for summer hours on Saturdays, Aug. 4, Aug. 11, Aug. 18, and Aug. 25.

Dan the Snakeman: Come see, touch and learn about some very interestin­g and dangerous reptiles on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 6:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to attendwith their children.

Back in Time with Music: Come have some fun with music on Friday, Aug. 3 at 6:30 p.m. Participan­ts will play aroundwith­music from the past.

PlayMahjon­g: Like to play Mahjong, or want to learn how to play without using the computer? Join the fun every Monday afternoon at the library. The groupmeets Monday, Aug. 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 1-3 p.m.

We Rock!: Thanks to a grant from the Central NY Regional Council, library staff have been able to bring the Morrisvill­e-Eaton Elementary School librarian to the library. Join Miss Wise on Monday, Aug. 6 at 6:30 p.m. as she reads “Only One You” by Linda Kranz. Guests can then create their ownmasterp­iece on rocks to decorate the library garden. This program is open to all.

Summer Reading Kiddies Korner, Story Hour: Bring your preschool child (ages 2-5) for the last summer time story hour on Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. Staff will read stories about “Music Fun.” Make a craft, hear some stories and more. The next story will not be until Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018.

Out of the Cage Pet Mobile: Join Jennifer Clark as

she brings her traveling exotic petting zoo to the library onWednesda­y, Aug. 8 at 6:30 p.m. Shewill bring six different animals to learn about as well as see and touch.

Rock Around the World!: Come join library staff as they have fun with music from around the world on Friday, Aug. 10 at 6:30 p.m. There will be games, a craft and more.!

Summer Reading Ends: Get your reading records in at the library and make sure you have read at least 10 hours by 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10.

Rockin’MiniGolf: Thanks to a grant from the Central NY Regional Council, library staff have been able to bring the Morrisvill­e-Eaton Elementary School librarian to the library. Join Miss Wise on Monday, Aug. 13 ay 6:30 p.m. when kids will code robots through a series of mini golf course challenges using Ozobots and Spheros. This program is open to all.

Summer Reading Graduation: All children who completed the 10 hour reading requiremen­t will be invited to this ceremony on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 6:30 p.m. Prizes, T-shirts, certificat­es and ice creamsunda­es will be provided. If children read 1,000 hours collective­ly, they can slime the library manager.

Family Movie Night - “Ready Player One” (PG-13): Library staff will show the popularmov­ie “Ready Player One” on Friday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. Popcorn as always will be provided; guests can bring their own beverage. Children under 13 years of age will not be allowed to view the movie without a parent or guardian.

Rock Out with STEM: Thanks to a grant from the Central NY Regional Council, library staff have been able to bring theMorrisv­illeEaton Elementary School librarian to the library. Join Miss Wise on Monday, Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. when kids will create their own musical instrument using Makey Makey and other library tools. This program is open to all.
