Many hands made Wampsville park possible

-

On July 14, 2018, a group of dedicated residents, businesses, family and friends gathered to create a beautiful park in Wampsville. The fact that this is a community park was evident by all that participated on that day.

A special thank you to Die Molding’s very generous gift that made this all possible in such a short time. The employees from our local Lowe’s store, the work crew from Madison County jail, many Madison County employees, community members and their friends and family worked in the hot sun putting the park together. From Dunkin Donuts providing coffee and donuts to start the day to food donated by a local resident, Hood and Sisco and prepared by Victor from Madison Bistro, everyone was full and able to work all day.

John Pinard and John Regan spent the entire day on their tractors moving soil and mulch. The support from Concrete Slipform, Rocko DiVeronica, the Lenox highway crew and the grounds and maintenance crew from Madison County were responsible for preparing the piece of land and I thank you. And a beautiful park sign made by Jacob Mack that was created as his Eagle Scout project welcomes you to the space. Thank you to all that have helped in some way; too many to name, however your acts have not gone unnoticed.

This job was much larger than we had anticipated and there is more to do, but I couldn’t miss this opportunity to say thank you. A special thank you to the park members,! Barb, Ellen, Jennifer, John, John, Peter, Sarah and Tanya who have met monthly for two years. This may have been a dream for many years, but on July 14, 2018, the Wampsville Park became a reality.

With thanks and gratitude, Lori Brockway, Wampsville
