SHERRILL » The city of Sherrill will host a Puppy Paddle at the Al Glover Sherrill Pool on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 6-7 p.m. The pool will be open for dogs to swim. All dogs must have a rabies tag.

Italian Heritage Festival planning

CANASTOTA » The Canastota Italian Heritage Community will meet Thursday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m. at the Canastota Public Library to discuss holding an Italian Heritage Festival in Canastota with a potential date in August 2019. Basket exhibit

ROME » World-renowned basket masker Flo Hoppe will display several of her creations at the Rome Art and Community Center in the coming weeks. Both Flo Hoppe’s exhibit and the Rome Art Associatio­n Member show will run until Sept. 5. The Rome Art & Community Center is open to the public Tuesday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Kidspak program

CLINTON » The Country Pantry is in the middle of its KIDSPAK Program, serving approximat­ely 250 families monthly in Clinton, Clark Mills and Westmorela­nd. A KIDSPAK is a large bag filled with kid-friendly food. Bags are given out in June/July and August. Item and monetary donations are being accepted for the month of August.

The following items are needed: juice boxes, peanut butter, granola bars, raisins, applesauce or other fruit cups, crackers, animal crackers, cereal, tooth brushes, and toothpaste. Pick-up can also be arranged by calling Mary Zimbler at 315-272-5267.

UTICA » The Oneida County Sheriff’s Community Affairs Unit will hold multiple job fairs in an effort to fill current vacant full-time and part-time positions within the Oneida County Correction­al facility.

The Community Affairs Unit will be at the following locations: Sangertown Mall in New Hartford on Monday, Aug. 20 through Friday, Aug. 24 from noon to 8 p.m. Members of the Sheriff’s Office will be present to talk about a career in the field of correction­s along with providing job specificat­ions, requiremen­ts, benefits, and the hiring process. Senior bus trip to NYS Fair

GEDDES » The city of Oneida, city of Sherrill and village of Canastota are sponsoring a bus to the New York State Fair for seniors on Tuesday, Aug. 28. The bus will leave the Oneida Towers at 9 a.m. with a stop at the Canastota Pool and leave the Fair to return at 6 p.m. Seniors 60 and older are admitted free to the Fair. Chevy Court concert at 2 p.m. with the Temptation­s. The bus fee is $10. This trip is open to seniors 55 and older. Seating is limited. New season for Rome Community Theater

ROME » Rome Community Theater will kick off its upcoming season with a musical, “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” on Sept. 27-30 and Oct. 5-7. This fast-paced musical deals with two con men, a beautiful woman and the elite of the French Riviera collide in a sexy and irreverent farce. Caregiver support group offered
