AUBURN- Sandra K. Cox, 74, formerly of the Central New York area including Sherrill, Oneida and Chittenang­o and also of Florida, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, in the Commons on St. Anthony in Auburn. Born in Oneida on May 13, 1944 she was the daughter of Robert and Clara Weber Burton. Sandra was a graduate of Dixie Hollins High School in St. Petersburg, FL, Class of 1964 and earned her associate’s degree from Mohawk Valley Community College as a medical assistant in 1993. She married Paul V. Cox in Oneida on October 18, 1969. Prior to her retirement in 2015, Sandra was employed with St. Elizabeth’s Hospital family practice office, for almost twenty years. She was a veteran in the United States Navy serving on active duty from 1964-67 and then rejoined through the reserves in 1984 and retired in 2004. Her career in the medical field and her service to her country through the Navy were both things that Sandra was extremely proud of. She was also very proud of her children. Sandra was a kind person, always going out of her way to do something nice for someone. She loved her kitties. Sandra was a member of Christ Church, United Methodist in Sherrill where she was a former trustee and was active on various committees. Surviving besides her husband, Paul, are one daughter and her fiancé, Tari Cox and Bruce Remsburg of South Daytona, FL; one son, Christophe­r Cox of Warners; two brothers and sisters-inlaw, Phil and Pat Burton of Hooksett, NH and Fred and Jan Burton of Cicero; one sister, Jackie Deeble of Whitesboro; a special niece, Debra Deeble of Buffalo; several additional nieces and nephews and four sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be held 2PM Monday, August 13th, 2018 from Christ Church, United Methodist, 417 Park Street, Sherrill, with the Reverend Robert Kolvik-Campbell, officiatin­g. Interment will be made in Valley View Cemetery. Friends may call at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida on Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 2-5PM.
