Stabbing, fights at State Fair
Oneida city man among several charged in slew of incidents Sunday
Police say a teenager was stabbed in the chest and two women later tumbled through glass while fighting at the New York State Fair.
New York State Police say it happened Sunday at the fairgrounds near Syracuse.
State Police responded to restaurant row for a reported stabbing and located a 17-year- old male from Syracuse with a stab wound to the chest. The victim was transported to SUNY Upstate Medical Center and is currently listed as being in stable condition.
About 20 minutes later, police say two women fell through a glass section of a food stand while fighting. A 20-year- old was transported to SUNY Upstate Medical Center with lacerations. The victim was treated and released Monday morning.
Troopers responded to multiple disturbances in the Chevy Court area prior to and after the 8 p.m. concert. The Solvay Fire Department assisted troopers with removing 30 teenagers from the roof of a restroom building located in the area.
Joseph P. Fish, 24, of Oneida, was charged with resisting ar-
rest, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, and issued an appearance ticket.
Wayne G. Kimball, 25, of Rome, was charged with resisting arrest, a class Amisdemeanor, and disorderly conduct.
Yakua I. Banks, 29, of Cortland, was charged with resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor, and obstructing governmental administration, a class A misdemeanor. Banks was transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center for arraignment.
State Police were assisted by several agencies including the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, town of Geddes Police Department, AMR Ambulance, Solvay Fire Department and State Fire.
