ONEIDA - Patricia A. Heller, 90, of Broadway, passed away Sunday afternoon, Sept. 2, 2018, at her residence, after a long illness. Born in Rome on Aug. 3, 1928, she was the daughter of Oscar and Modesto Denison Anken. Patricia was raised in Westernvil­le, where she attended a two room school house and moved to Oneida in 1954. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy, Class of 1945, and attended Ithaca College. Patricia married Robert Heller in Rome on Sept. 16, 1950. Prior to her retirement, Patricia was the assistant to the librarian in the Seneca Street School for many years. She volunteere­d at various locations in Oneida, including Oneida Healthcare and the Oneida Public Library. Patricia was a member of the First Presbyteri­an Church in Oneida, where she actively volunteere­d within the church and in the Second Hand Rose Shop. Surviving besides her husband Robert are: two sons and daughters-in-law, Todd and Phyllis Heller of St. Louis, Mo. and Peter and Eva Heller of Galveston, Texas; two grandchild­ren, Zachary Heller and Kristie Barcomb; one sister, Sandra Jones of Nev.; special niece, Gina Butler; and several other nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by a daughter, Leslie Vanderhoof on July 25, 2014, a sister, Virginia Ciaralli, and a brother, Carl Anken. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida, with the Rev. Kevin Bailey officiatin­g. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1-3 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Private interment will be made in Carmichael Hill Cemetery, Westernvil­le.
