Memorial observances

Several municipalities will hold remembrance ceremonies to mark the 17th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. A brief list of ceremonies include:

Canastota

In Canastota, the Sept. 11 Remembrance Ceremony will be held in Reflection Park on Peterboro Street at 7 p.m. with a ceremony to honor the victims.

The ceremony will be followed by refreshments at the Canastota Volunteer Fire Department

Cazenovia

The 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. in Memorial Park on Albany Street in Cazenovia. The candlelight vigil will honor and remember the victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks. There will be representation from local emergency response and veterans groups, music and silent reflection. All are welcome.

The ceremony will be coordinated by members of Project CAFE.

Chittenango

In Chittenango, the Sept. 11 remembrance ceremony will be held on Russel Street in front of the Chittenango Fire Department at 6:30 p.m.

Sherrill

The Sherrill Merchants Association will host a display of flags in Reilly-Mumford Park in memory of the events of Sept. 11, 2001, the

victims of the terrorist attacks and those who serve the country and community. The Sherrill Merchants Association will host a ceremony at the park at 7 p.m. All are invited to attend. PAC 99 will also live stream the ceremony on the new PAC 99 Facebook page and the video will remain on the page for later viewing. The event will also be recorded for later broadcast on the PAC 99 TV station.
