UTICA, N.Y. » The Mohawk Valley Community College Cultural Series will present “One Love: An Evening with John Leguizamo” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, in the Jorgensen Athletic/ Event Center at the College’s Utica Campus.

Leguizamo, an Emmy Award-winning actor, voice actor, stand-up comedian, producer, playwright, and screenwriter, first came to prominence on the lecture circuit touring the nation’s colleges and stages with his one-man show “Ghetto Klown,” which traced his life from growing up in Queens through his avantgarde theater origins in the 1980s, to his film career, including such films as “Moulin Rouge,” “Romeo + Juliet,” “Carlito’s Way,” “Spawn,” “John Wick,” and “Ice Age.” Most recently, Leguizamo was seen in

“The Infiltrator” with Bryan Cranston, “Sisters” with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, and “American Ultra” with Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart.

He is now taking his entire story — the lessons he’s learned, the characters he’s encountered, his passion for education, his struggles against racism and poverty — to audiences around the country with “One Love: An Evening with John Leguizamo.”
