13th meth lab busted
Oneida City Police arrest two
ONEIDA, N.Y. >> Oneida City Police have arrested two people after busting another suspected meth lab in the city.
During the late night hours of Wednesday, Oct. 10, into the early morning hours of Thursday, Oct. 11, members of the OPD conducted an investigation into a report of an odor at 414 Lenox Ave. Investigators were able to narrow the odor down to a specific apartment, where they located three individuals, as well as evidence of the unlawful manufacture, possession, and use of meth-
amphetamine.
The apartment building was evacuated. The OPD, with the assistance of the New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT), searched the apartment, during which they found a quantity of methamphetamine was also located and seized. Hazardous materials were also found and removed.
Samantha Wheeler, 34, and Joseph Kosinski Jr., 41, were each charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine; second-degree criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing materials; second- degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; fourth- degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; and fifth-degree conspiracy.
Both suspects were arraigned before the Oneida City Court and held at Madison County Jail without bail or bond. They were both ordered to reappear before the court at a later time.
This is the 13th methamphetamine manufacturing lab located in the city of Oneida in 2018.
