Caz’ runs past Chittenango for Class B East title
CAZENOVIA 31 , CHITTENANGO 13 >> After dropping a rare regular season contest to Vernon-VeronaSherrill in the fourth week of play, Cazenovia ended the season on a three game tear, capped by a 31-13 win over playoff bound Chittenango on Friday. Laker running back Ryan Romagnoli racked up more than 200 yards rushing to go with three touchdowns to pace Cazenovia in the victory and the Class B crown. Keith Sprugeon and Nick Farr hauled in touchdown receptions for Chittenango in the defeat. CENTRAL VALLEY ACAD- EMY 14, CAMDEN 13 >> Camden needed a win over CVA and a VVS loss to Oneida for a shot at the Section III Class B East playoffs. Unfortunately for Blue Devils fans, neither happened. CVA used a 58-yard connection fromMichael Dihrberg to Xavier Williams for the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter en route to a 14-13 win. Josh Mayden paced Camden with a pair of rushing touchdowns.

ONEIDA1, VERNON-VERONASHERRILL0>> Zach Friend’s second half goal lifted Oneida to a 1-0 victory over rival Vernon-Verona-Sherrill. Alex Tooker posted seven saves for Oneida in the win. CHITTENANGO 4, HOMER 1 >> Chittenango scored four first half goals en route to a 4-1 win over Homer. Sean Larsson and Dan Moon posted two goals a piece for Chittenango in the win. OTSELICVALLEY2, MADISON 0 >> Otselic Valley’s Jaxin Davis and Dakota Adams each found the back of the net in a 2- 0 victory over Madison.

CAMDEN 6, VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 0 >> Holding onto a 2- 0 lead over VVS at the halftime break of Thursday’s field hockey tilt, Camden used four second half goals to pull away with a 6-0 win. Mackenzie Mix and Mercedes Currie each pelted a pair of shots into the back of the cage for Camden in the win.
