David’s Refuge honors 100 moms

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. >> On Sunday, Oct. 28, from 2-5 p.m., David’s Refuge will join hands with Lavender, Love and Ponies to celebrate the sixth annual Beauty of Mom event. In total, 100 mothers of children with special needs will gather for a day of pampering and friendship.

During the event, moms are treated to a makeover from Ashley Hansen’s Beauty Nation, hair styling by Matthews Salon Spa, and a personalized photo shoot with Jolana Hollister Photography. The event takes place at 5701 E Lake Rd in Cazenovia.

In addition, Carrabba’s Italian Grill will cater lunch and Element on Water will provide a mini spa treatment. Moms will also have the opportunity to explore the beautiful grounds, meet the rescued horses and take a nature walk.

Along with donating the venue for the event, Michelle Crawford, owner of Lavender, Love and Ponies, has become an integral part of our mission. Lavender, Love and Ponies is a new venue that includes a restored barn for events, is home to retired and rescued horses, and sits among lavender fields. Crawford, along with BankersHealthcare Group, has pledged to support our caregivers in 2019, donating funds to support over 50 respite weekends.

“All moms—particularly those who dedicate themselves to caring for their special needs children— deserve a break once in a while, and I’m so excited to welcome David’s Refuge to the farm for a day of rejuvenation and friendship. We hope they find comfort in the setting,” said Crawford. “This is the perfect way to kick off the farm’s grand opening.”
