CAZENOVIA, N.Y. >> Cornell Cooperativ­e Extension of Madison County is hosting a tractor safety course for homeowners and farmers interested in learning how to operate their tractors, snowblower­s, lawnmowers, and chainsaws more safely.

This tractor safety course will be hosted by Cornell Cooperativ­e Extension of Madison County and Cazenovia Equipment Company at their Cazenovia Store. The New York Center for Agricultur­al Health and Medicine will provide informatio­n on safely operating equipment and will then walk participan­ts through safe operation using tractors and other equipment at Cazenovia Equipment. A few jet items to be discussed will be the importance of the ROPS (Roll Over Protection System), utilizing PTO shields, as well as properly backing and hitching equipment.

The course will be located at Cazenovia Equipment Company, 2 Remington Park Drive, Cazenovia, NY 13035. Caz Equipment is located on the north side of Route 20. This event will take place on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM and dinner will be served. The cost is $10 and includes dinner for the evening.
