‘Rocky Horror’ brings interactiv­e fun to Utica

UTICA, N.Y. >> It’s the 43rd anniversar­y of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and The Stanley is ready to celebrate several years of The Rocky Horror movie showingwit­h all of the creatures of the night.

The one night only event kicks off Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. with aRocktail Party hosted by DJ Larry featuringm­usic, costume contest, and highly anticipate­d live entertainm­ent provided by Team Larry. Then at 8 p.m., the main event begins with the screening of “TheRocky Horror Picture Show.”

Brad and Janet take refuge in the castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvesti­te mad scientist who is about to unveil his greatest creation - and have a bit of fun with his reluctant guests. This beloved film features risque costumes and special effects that will be shown on The Stanly’s giant screen. Those who have never taken part in this interactiv­e experience are in for a unique evening.

Prop kitswill be available on a first-come first-served basis. No outside participat­ion props allowed.

This movie is rated R by the MPAA. Due to adult content, people under 17 must be accompanie­d by an adult.

Refreshmen­ts will be available for sale and a beer and wine cash bar will be on site.

This is a fundraiser for The Stanley Theatre.
