Oneida school taxes on the way
The school tax payments for property owners in the city of Oneida will become payable at the city chamberlain’s office, Municipal Building, 109 North Main St., Oneida, N.Y., after Nov. 19, 2018.
This will become effective after the chamberlain has received the returns from the Oneida City School District. This will include all those taxes from the city of Oneida that were not collected by the school tax collector during September and October.
If your property is located in the towns of Lenox or Lincoln, do not contact the chamberlain. Your tax will be payable at the Madison County Treasurer’s Office in Wampsville. If your property is located in the towns of Verona, Vernon, or Vienna, your tax will be payable to the commissioner of finance, Utica, N.Y.
If your city of Oneida school district tax is presently unpaid, it will not be advertised in the newspaper at this time. The only taxes that will affect this year’s tax sale by the city chamberlain will be the 2018 city/ county taxes and the unpaid 2017-2018 Oneida City School taxes.
Fee schedule for the 2018-19 Oneida City School tax for those properties located in the city of Oneida will be as follows: Nov. - 8 percent Dec. - 9 percent Jan. - 10 percent The school taxes will continue to be collected by the city chamberlain at the Municipal Building after January and throughout the year, with a maximum fee of 10 percent until tax sale on or before Dec. 1, 2019.
