Babe Ruth granddaughter fundraiser
The Herkimer County Historical Society is hosting a fundraising dinner event with Linda Ruth Tosetti, granddaughter of Baseball Legend George Herman “Babe” Ruth on Saturday, May 4 at Francesca’s Banquet Hall in Ilion.
Doors open at 5 p.m. for a meet and greet time, followed by dinner at 6 p.m. and a program with Tosetti as the guest speaker.
Tosetti will has spoken on the life of her legendary grandfather at schools and universities across the nation has been a guest speaker at The Society of America Baseball Research, the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Babe Ruth Museum and more.
Tosetti has been a contributor to Fox Channel News, ESPN, the Chicago Sun-Times, the New York Times, the Boston Globe, the Washington Times and has been an honored guest at Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park
and other sporting venues throughout America. Her striking resemblance to her grandfather shows she is a direct descendant through her mother, Dorothy Ruth Pirone, Babe Ruth’s only bi- ological daughter.
It’s Tosetti goal to see Major League Baseball retire her grandfather’s number 3.
Jason Powles, WKTV News Anchor, will be the events emcee and a representative from the Baseball Hall of Fame will be in attendance.
Tickets to the Dinner are $35.00 per person and can be purchased ahead of time from the Herkimer County Historical Society, 406 N. Main St., Herkimer, open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
