ONEIDA- Larry J. “Bucko” Williams, 67, Loucks Street, passed away early Sunday, March 10, 2019, at his home. Born in Oneida, on October 8, 1951, he was the son of Trevor M. and Mildred B. Hager Williams. A lifelong resident of the area, Bucko graduate of Oneida High School, Class of 1969 and earned an Associates Degree in accounting from Morrisvill­e College in 1971. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with the City of Oneida, Parks and Recreation Department, where he was the Maintenanc­e Supervisor. Bucko also took great pride of the conditions of the tee boxes at Kanon Valley Country Club, which he mowed during the summer months as a part time member of the grounds maintenanc­e crew. He was a member of the Order of the Owls, Oneida Nest #1606, an avid golfer and a lifelong/ die hard Philadelph­ia Eagles fan. Surviving are: four sisters and three brothers-inlaw, Jane and Paul Howe of Webster, Carolyn and David Green of Oneida, Sandra Cappaerell­i and John Seelman of Oneida Castle and Lori and Jeff Massey of Durhamvill­e; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Trevor J. and Beth Williams and Bill T. Williams, all of Oneida. He was lovingly known as “Uncle Buck” to several nieces and nephews. Bucko is also survived by his second families at Beck’s Ivy Grill, Old Erie Golf Course and his Sunday Group at Kanon Valley Country Club. He was predecease­d by two brothers John W. “Zu” Williams on January 11, 2011 and James R. “Schemp” Williams on November 25, 2015. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM, Sunday, March 24, 2019, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida, with the Rev. Michael Usborne, officiatin­g. A celebratio­n of Bucko’s life will be held after the services at the Owls Club in Oneida. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 PM prior to the service.
