Kids Day promotes outdoor fun at Bagg’s square
Made In Utica will be holding a Kids Day at Handshake.City May 11to encourage outdoor fun.
Made In Utica will hold a Kids Day at Handshake.City on Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The day will feature family-friendly vendors, local organizations and fun activities at Handshake. City. Kids Day will also be the first event of the season at the container park and event space in Bagg’s Square.
Highlights of Kids Day include Little Ninja Adventure Course, Puppet Show, Utica Zoo Zoomobile, Humvee on display from Utica National Guard Recruiting, Child Safe ID program from Oneida County Sheriff, Fire Safety from Utica Fire Department, information and services from Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield, Primary Urgent Care, United Way of the Valley & Greater Utica Area, Utica CPR, Kids Oneida, Utica Children’s Museum, The Ride for Missing Children, Compassion Coalition and Bargain Grocer.
There’s even a teen zone for older kids, featuring a special pop up aerial class for teenagers ages 12-18 from Jill Hayes Yoga and In Bloom Yoga. Plus henna tattoos, special vendors and shops, music, food trucks, games and more.
Yoga is at 11 a.m. and the puppet show is at 12:30 p.m. Kids Day is free to attend, although aerial yoga class has a separate registration fee and sign up through inbloomyogastudio.com.
“We are excited to launch Phase Two of Handshake.City with a new event, and are going big for Kids Day,” said cofounder Katie Reilly. “This year our goal is to enhance what we’ve built with more unique cultural entertainment offerings.”
Made In Utica Birthday Bash will be May 18 and Barks and Brews will be June 9.
