School budget vote today
The following is a brief list of local school budgets and board of education votes taking place on Tuesday, May 21.
Oneida
Residents of the Oneida School District Board of Education will vote for the proposed 2019-20 budget as well as one school board seat on Tuesday, May 21, from noon to 9 p.m. The proposed $46.98 million budget represents a $432,389 increase over the current budget and carries with it a $17.89 million tax levy — a 2.49 percent increase. That amounts to a $59.70 increase per year on a $100,000 home. Polls are located at Oneida High School and Dur

Stockbridge Valley
Residents of the Stockbridge Valley Central School District will vote on Tuesday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the district’s proposed budget at the Stockbridge Valley School. The proposed $11.3 million budget for the 2019-20 school year is a 2.44 percent increase over the 2018-19 budget with a proposed tax levy increase of 2.5 percent. There will be a Special Board of Education meeting for the Stockbridge Valley Central School District on Tuesday, May 21, at 8 p.m. to accept the results of the budget and Board of Education vote.
Vernon-Verona-Sherrill
Residents of the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill School District will vote on Tuesday, May 21, from noon to 9 p.m. for the district’s proposed 2019-20 school budget, as well as school board members. The proposed $39.5 million budget for the 2019-20 school year is a 6.16 percent increase over the 2018-19 budget with a proposed tax levy increase of 2.99 percent. Polling places are the Town of Verona Office Building, Verona Fire
Station, and Sherrill City Court Building. Individuals who are not registered to votemay register at their polling location. They are required to provide proof of residency.
Canastota
Residents of the Canastota Central SchoolDistrict will vote on Tuesday, May 21 from noon to 9 p.m. for the district’s proposed budget, as well as three school board members. The proposed $31.2 budget for the 2019-20 school year is a 3.29 percent increase over the 2018-19 budget with a proposed tax levy increase of 3.42 percent. Polling places are at the Roberts Street Elementary auditorium and South Side School gymnasium.
Cazenovia
Residents of the Cazenovia Central School District will vote Tuesday, May 21 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The proposed $30.1 million budget for the 2019-20 school year is a 1.52 percent increase over the 201819 budget with a proposed tax levy increase of 4.75 percent. Votingwill be held in the auxiliary gym at the Cazenovia Middle School.
Chittenango
Residents of the Chittenango Central School District will vote Tuesday, May 21 fromnoon to 9 p.m. at the Chittenango Middle School. The proposed $40 million budget for the 2019-20 school year is a 1.91 percent increase over the 2018-19 budget with a proposed tax levy increase of 2 percent.
Camden
Residents of the Camden Central SchoolDistrict will vote Tuesday, May 21 from noon to 9 p.m. in the Camden High School Lobby. The proposed $52.56 million budget for the 201920 school year is a 0.46 percent increase over the 2018-19 budget with a proposed tax levy increase of 2 percent.
Residents of the Brookfield Central SchoolDistrict will vote Tuesday, May 21 from noon to 8 p.m. at the Brookfield school. The proposed $6.57 million budget for the 2019-20 school year is a 3.44 percent increase over the 2018-19 budget with a proposed tax levy increase of 3 percent.
DeRuyter
Residents of the DeRuyter Central School District will vote Tuesday, May 21 from noon to 9 p.m. in the large gym foyer. The proposed $10.8million budget for the 2019-20 school year is a 3.42 increase over the 2018-19 budget with a proposed tax levy increase of 7.54 percent.
Hamilton
Residents of the Hamilton Central School District will vote Tuesday, May 21 from noon to 8 p.m. in the Hamilton Central School Bus Garage. The proposed $13.21 million budget for the 2019-20 school year is a 1.99 percent increase over the 2018-19 budget with a proposed tax levy increase of 2.84 percent.
Morrisville-Eaton
Residents of the Morrisville-Eaton Central School District will vote Tuesday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the school gym at E.R. Andrews Elementary School. The proposed $17.15 million budget for the 2019-20 school year is a 4.81 percent increase over the 2018-19 budget with a proposed tax levy increase of 1.92 percent.
Madison
Residents of the Madison Central School District will vote Tuesday, May 21 from noon to 8 p.m. at the Madison High School in the main foyer. The proposed $10.65 million budget for the 201920 school year is a 7.1 percent increase over the 201819 budget with a proposed tax levy increase of 2.3 percent.
