‘Joe Time’ coffee shop
Rome — New York State Senate Deputy Minority Leader Joseph Griffo, R-47, invites the public to join him at Copperccino’s in Rome on Friday, May 24, from 6:308:30 a.m., for his latest “Joe Time” coffee shop conversation. Griffo has hosted “Joe Time” sessionsasaway to interact with and to hear from constituents in a casual and relaxed setting. This Friday, WKAL 1450 will join Griffo to broadcast their morning show live.

Morrisville— TheMorrisville-Eaton Central School Board of Educationwill hold a special meeting on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. at the Edward R. Andrews Elementary School. ‘Cutting the Cord’
Cazenovia— The Cazenovia Public Library will host a presentation by librarian Caren Bertrand titled “Cutting the Cord to Cable TV” at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 6 in the Community Room. Bertrand is a technology librarian for the MidYork Library System. She will explain the options available outside of cable, includingHulu, library services, Fire Stick and Netflix.
Stand Against Povery
Utica — Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency will hold the “Stand Against Poverty Parade” at its Utica Community Action Access Point (CAAP), 1100 Miller St, on May 31 at 11:30 a.m. with awalk leavingtheCAAPand proceeding to the Agency’s Calvary Site, 308 South St., and returning to the CAAP. At the CAAP at approximately noon, event speakers will talk about the problems and possible solutions for poverty in our community. Scheduled to speak are Congressman Anthony Brindisi, D-22, andAmy Turner, executive director, MVCAA. The event is free and open to the public.
Food Pantry open
Vernon — The Holy Family Church Food Pantry on Peterboro Road in Vernon serves families in Vernon, Vernon Center, Sherrill, Oneida Castle and Oriskany Falls. The food pantry is open the first and third Monday and Friday of every month. Monday is open 5-6:30 p.m. and Friday is open 9:30-11 a.m. Fresh food is the fourth Thursday of every month open 3-4:30 p.m.

Madison County Courthouse
Cazenovia— The Cazenovia Public Library will host a special presentation titled “Madison County Courthouse Then and Now” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21 in the Community Room. Madison County Historian Matthew Urtz will discuss the construction of the original courthouse as seen through the journals of HBPeckham, Construction Foreman. He will also talk about themodern renovation and efforts to preserve the courthouse’s historic characteristics.

Oneida — The Oneida School District Board of Education will hold a budget vote and board election on Tuesday, May 21, at 6 p.m. at the Administrative Offices, 565 Sayles St., Oneida.

Munnsville — There will be a Special Board of Education meeting for the Stockbridge Valley Central School District on Tuesday, May 21, at 8 p.m. to accept the results of the budget and Board of Education vote.
VVS budget vote
Verona — Residents of the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill School District will vote on Tuesday, May 21, from noon to 9 p.m. for the district’s proposed 2019-20 school budget, as well as school board members. Polling places are the Town of VeronaOffice Building, Verona Fire Station, and Sherrill City Court Building. Individuals who are not registered to vote may register at their polling location. They are required to provide proof of residency.

Oneida — The Oneida Public Library will show “The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part” onWednesday, May 22, at 6 p.m. The latest in the popular animated film series, “The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part” follows the hero Emmett as the Lego people struggle with the diabolical Duplos.

Verona — The Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Board of Education will hold an executive session on Wednesday, May 22, at the Administrative Buildingat6p.m. todiscuss contract negotiations and personnel. Oneida — Silver Star Chapter 21, Order of Eastern Star will meet on Wednesday, May 22 at the Tri-Valley Masonic Lodge at 611 Stone St. Oneida. The meeting is draping of the altar. Wampsville — On Saturday, May 25, the Madison County Courthouse will have a grand re-opening after a year and a half of restoration. A special guided tour of the newly renovated courthouse will be offered that will feature a history of the building and the efforts made to restore key historic aspects including the stained glass windows, marble flooring, portraits and more. Guided tours will begin at 2 p.m. and start every 15 minutes until 5 p.m. Tours will take approximately one hour. Stockbridge Memorial Day parade
Munnsville — The town of Stockbridge will hold a Memorial Day ceremony and parade on Sunday, May 26, beginning at 9 a.m. with the annual parade. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. at Stockbridge Park, followed by a concert by Matt & Thelma Chase from noon to 3 p.m. at Carlon Field. Fireworks will finish off the day at 9 p.m. at Carlon Field. Parade grandmarshall is Donald Dymes and guest speaker is Assemblyman John Salka, R-121.
Durhamville Memorial Day
Durhamville — The Durhamville (ANM) Veterans Club will hold its 69th annual Memorial Day service on Monday, May 27, in Durhamville at 9:30 a.m. at the World War I Memorial at the corner of Broad and Foster streets, where the Color Guard will perform a wreath laying ceremony. This ceremony will be immediately followed by a Memorial Day service at the clubhouse on the corner of Canal and John streets. This year’s guest speaker will be Ken Bundy, who served as a sergeant in theUnited States Marine Corps. A reception, open to the public, will be held immediately following the service.

‘Track of the Cat’
Cazenovia— The Cazenovia Public Library will show the 1954 film “Track of the Cat” at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29 in the Community Room. The film is based on a 1949 adventure novel of the same name by Walter Van Tilburg Clark. During a harsh winter in northern California, members of a ranching family squabble at home while the two oldest sons hunt for a panther that is killing their livestock. Track of the Cat is rated approved and runs 102 minutes. Free popcorn provided.
‘Howto Train Your Dragon’
Cazenovia— The Cazenovia Public Library will present two free screenings of “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” at 3:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 31 in the Community Room. The 2019 computeranimated fantasy film is the sequel to “How to Train Your Dragon 2” and the final installment in the “How to Train Your Dragon” film trilogy. The plot centers on Hiccup’s search for a dragon utopia called “The Hidden World.” The movie is rated PG and runs 104 minutes. Free popcorn provided.
