Kevin Spooner, a sophomore majoring in applied music at the University of Rochester, has been named to the Dean’s List for academic achievement for the fall 2018 semester.

Spooner, a resident of Oneida, N.Y., is the child of Mark Spooner and Lisa Spooner, and a graduate of Oneida High School in Oneida, N.Y. . Kevin Spooner, a sophomore at the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester, has been named to the Dean’s List for academic achievement for the fall 2018 semester.

Spooner, a resident of Oneida, is the child of Mark Spooner and Lisa Spooner, and a graduate of Oneida High School in Oneida. . Gabrielle M. Babowicz of Oneida (13421) has been named to the President’s List at Western New England University for the Fall 2018. Babowicz is working toward a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences.

Students are named to the President’s List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.80 or higher. . Troy Peters, a member of the Colgate University Class of 2020, has earned the fall 2018 Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence.

Peters is a graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill HS from Sherrill, NY (13461). Peters’s current major is Political Science.

Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.3 or higher while completing at least three courses earn the fall 2018 Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence. . Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher while completing at least three courses for a conventional letter grade during the fall 2018 semester earn the Dean’s Award with Distinction.

Cazenovia High School graduate Evan Cornell of Cazenovia, NY (13035), is a member of the Colgate Class of 2019 and is currently a Economics major.

Delaney S. Yates of Cazenovia. Yates is a member of the Class of 2021. . The Pi of NewYork chapter of Phi Beta Kappa at Elmira College recently held its annual induction and banquet with 15 newly elected members of high scholarly attainment. Prizes were also awarded to five outstanding juniors and five promising sophomores. Those recognized included:

Emma Groff of Cazenovia has been selected for inclusion on St. Lawrence University’s Dean’s List for academic achievement during the Fall 2018 semester.

Groff is a member of the Class of 2020 and is majoring in environmental studies-government. . Kathryn Buchanan of Oneida, daughter of Lisa Aiello and Brian Buchanan, has been selected to the Brockport School of Nursing Dean’s List with Honors. . Holly Popple, of Canastota, NY, was one of 24 students inducted into the Elmira College Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society. Newly elected officers were also initiated during the ceremony, which concluded with a speech by Director of Career Services Matt Guagliardo. . Charles Clark II of Morrisville, NY graduated from SUNY Delhi in December 2018 with an associate’s degree in Construction Technology.
