Postseason play begins Tuesday

Oneida draws Class B No. 1 seed

The road to the Section III Class B title goes through Oneida.

Oneida earned the No. 1 seed in Class B after tearing through its regular season slate with an 18-1 mark. Mike Curro’s Tri-Valley League champions drew a familiar opponent in league foe Central Valley Academy for an opening round tilt on Tuesday, May 28. In two regular season meetings, Oneida took care of the Thunder (6-9) by tallies of 15-1 and 16-1.

Elsewhere in the TVL, Pioneer Division runner-up Camden drew the final home seed, andwill welcome Solvay for a No.8-No.9 showdown on Tuesday. Billy Sullivan’s Blue Devils closed the regular season with 9-8 mark, while the Bearcats worked a third place finish in the OHSL Liberty American.

Like Oneida, No. 6 seed Cazenovia will also face a divisional opponent in the opening round of the Class B tournament. One week after missing out on an OHSL Liberty National crown via a 4-0 loss to Marcellus, Loraine Sheftic’s Lakers (13-2) will host No. 13 Jordan-Elbridge (810) on Tuesday. In their only meet

The Blue Devils got the better of the Falcons (12-3) with a 9- 6 in April when the two teams met for their only regular season bout.
