SYLVAN BEACH Paul D. “PK” Koester, 69, of Main Street, passed away Tuesday evening, May 21, 2019, in St. Camillus Health and Rehabilita­tion Center, where he had been a resident since October. Born in Oneida on June 20, 1949, he was the son of Charles and Mary Carmody Koester. A lifelong resident of the area, Paul was a graduate of Oneida High School, Class of 1967. Prior to his retirement, PK was employed by Madison-Oneida BOCES as a bus mechanic and after his retirement with the Oneida Indian Nation at Snug Harbor. Paul helped with many benefits that were held for people at the Sylvan Beach Fire Department and the Sylvan Beach American Legion and was always willing to lend a hand. He had a great love for Sylvan Beach and it truly was his life. Surviving are: one son and his fiancée, Adam P. Koester and Rebecca Ford of Binghamton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Julie and Matthew MacDougall of Oneida and Jenny Bailey of Chittenang­o; four grandchild­ren, Keegan Baily, Aidan Bailey, Joseph Dingmon and McCartney Koester; one sister, Nancy Randall of Whitesboro; one brother, Jerome “Jerry” and Rosemary Koester of Sylvan Beach and several nieces and nephews. A Celebratio­n of Life will be held 1PM Saturday, June 2, 2019, from Harpoon Eddie’s, 611 Park Avenue, Sylvan Beach, NY. Contributi­ons may be made to the Sylvan Beach Fire Department, 908 Main Street, Sylvan Beach, NY 13157.
