Take a Walk on the Wild Side
Make-A-Wish Central New York is partnering once again with The Wild Animal Park in Chittenango for its sixth annual Walk on the Wild Side event, a family-friendly fundraiser held in honor of longtime Make-A-Wish supporters, the Heitkamp Family.
The event takes place Friday, July 19 from 5:30-8 p.m. and features zoo admission, dinner (hot dog or hamburger, chips, cookie, and water or juice) and treats by Tops Friendly Markets and other vendors. Attendees can also enjoy $1 games, raffles with prizes, and entertainment by 93Q.
Oneida County wish kid Angelina Facciolo will be on hand to meet and greet attendees. Angelina wished for a barn-themed, backyard playground and that special wish came true last summer. Attendees will get a chance to say hello and learn more about Angelina’s wish experience.
Walk on the Wild Side tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for children ages three to 12, and free for children ages two and younger. All proceeds support the wishes of local children with critical illnesses.
Tickets may be purchased online at https://wotws2019.eventbrite.com or in person at Make-A-Wish Central New York, Gary’s Auto in East Syracuse, Hiawatha Fasteners in North Syracuse, or at participating Tops Friendly Markets, including Camillus, Canastota, Chittenango, DeWitt, Fayetteville, Manlius, and North Syracuse stores. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Free admission and the chance to win special prizes will be offered to anyone raising $500 or more by July 15. Would-be attendees are invited to start a fundraising page at http://site.wish.org/goto/WOTWS2019.
