SHERRILL 7, SYRACUSE 2 >> The Silversmiths won their fourth straight during a home matinee with the Syracuse SaltCats on Saturday. Jake Mello held the SaltCats to one run on four hits, two walks and three strikeouts in six innings of work to pick up the win. Oneida products Rylan Baker and Ryan Garbry wrapped up the final three innings from the mound to secure the win. Chase Ferem drove in three runs and scored once on 3-for-4 hitting to pace the Silversmiths at the plate.

SHERRILL 6, CORTLAND 3 >> Vernon-Verona- Sherril l alum Connor VanDreason’s strong start on Friday propelled the Silversmiths to their first win over Cortland this season, 6-3. In eight innings of work from the hill, VanDreason yielded two runs - one earned - on two hits, one walk and six strikeouts. First baseman RJ Goldsbury helped power the Silversmith lineup, going 3-for-3 with a pair of runs scored. Eddy Garcia followed with a 2-for-4 line, including two runs scored, a triple and RBI, and teammate Matt Crisci went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI as Sherrill picked up its tenth win of the season.

Ross Zhangi earned the winfor the Silversmiths, holding the SaltCats to two runs on seven hits, three walks and five strikeouts. Chase Ferem drove in two runs for Sherrill on 1-for-3 hitting. RJ Goldsbury followed, going 1-for-1 with a homer, two walks, a run scored and an RBI, and Matt Nodoro added a pair of hits in the Silversmith victory.
