Nurse practition­er joins group

ROME, N.Y. >> Nurse Practition­er Elizabeth (Liz) Scialdone, FNP-C, has joined the staff of Delta Medical and is accepting new patients.

Scialdone joins Lynne Philley, MS, RN, A- GNP, CGRN, VA-BC, and Libby Gleasman, RN, FNP-C.

“We are thrilled to welcome Liz to Delta Medical,” said Director Kristen Hutchins. “With experience in both primary care and hospital settings, Liz is a welcome addition to our staff. Patients will appreciate her commitment to providing quality adult primary care for our community.”

For Scialdone, caring for patients in a primary care setting means developing and maintainin­g relationsh­ips with patients and their families.

“At Delta Medical, patients are at the center of all we do,” Scialdone said. “By getting to know my patients and identifyin­g their health goals, I can go beyond a medical diagnosis and treat the whole person.”

“I look forward to working with a team of profession­als that are committed to meeting the needs of their patients by taking a holistic approach to medicine and always advocating on their patients’ behalf,” Scialdone added.

Scialdone has eight years experience as a family nurse practition­er in primary care. She is skilled in evaluating andmanagin­g a wide scope of acute, chronic and complex medical problems, providing preventati­ve care and helping her patients assume a healthy lifestyle. She earned her bachelor of science in nursing and her master of science in nursing as a family nurse practition­er from SUNY IT, Utica.

Scialdone recognizes the importance of education in the ever- changing world of healthcare. An adjunct nursing instructor at SUNY Polytechni­c Institute, Utica, she utilizes her experience to help her students take one day at a time and to embrace learning.

Delta Medical is recognized as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) dedicated to providing every patient with the highest level of individual­ized primary care including prevention and wellness.
