Community Health Assessment
WAMPSVILLE, N.Y. >> What sort of challenges face your community? What changes do you think would help the community become healthier? Madison County wants to hear from you.
Every three years, the Madison County Department of Health partners with Oneida Healthcare and Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton to identify and address local health priorities through a Community Health Assessment. During this assessment, the Health Department gathers information fromits community partners, other health organizations, and members of the public.
The Madison County Department of Health is looking for community input by hosting a series of small group discussions of about 12 Madison County residents around the county. Pre-registration is preferred, but not required. Walk-ins are welcome. There are eight sessions across the county:
Brookfield
Tuesday, Aug. 27 – noon to 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 2416 Beaver Creek Road, Brookfield.
Canastota
Thursday, Aug. 22 – 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Office for the Aging, 138 Dominic Bruno Blvd., Canastota.
Cazenovia
Thursday, Aug. 29 – 6:30-8 p.m. at the Cazenovia Public Library, 100 Albany St., Cazenovia.
Chittenango
Wednesday, Aug. 21 – 2-3:30 p.m. at Clear Path for Veterans, 1223 Salt Springs Road, Chittenango.
DeRuyter
Tuesday, Aug. 27 – 6:30-8 p.m. at the United Church of DeRuyter Parish House, 1632 Cortland St., DeRuyter.
Hamilton
Tuesday, Aug. 20 – 6:30-8 p.m. at the Hamilton Public Library ,13 Broad St ., Hamilton.
Morrisville
Wednesday, Aug. 21 – 6-7:30 p.m. at Cornell Cooperative Extension, 100 Eaton St., Morrisville.
Oneida
Tuesday, Aug. 20 – 10-11:30 a.m. at Karing Kitchen, 116 West Grove St., Oneida. The end result is a Community Health Improvement Plan. This plan is used to set priorities for future initiatives and strategies for the community. The results will guide the work the Health Department and its partners do over the next few years to improve the overall health of Madison County.
