Social engineering summer camp
Rome — Mohawk Valley Community College will host a tuition-free Social Engineering Summer Camp on the Rome Campus, 1101 Floyd Ave., Rome, for 11th and 12th graders who live in Oneida and Madison counties. Students will have an option to either take a three-credit Cyber Security course or a three-credit Fraud Examination course. This program will run through Aug. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to an end-of-program trip, breakfast and lunch will be provided. Preregistration is encouraged. American Legion open house
Canastota — The Canastota American Legion Post 140 will be celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the American legion with an open house, free to the public on Aug 10 at 9:30 a.m. The historical room will be on display, there will be live music, special guests, food and refreshments. Chicken BBQ
Canastota — A chicken BBQ will be held at the United Church of Canastota, 144 Center Street, on Sunday Aug. 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $11 per meal and includes a half chicken, salt potatoes, cole slaw, roll with butter, baked beans and a desert.
SCVS board meeting
Munnsville — The regular meeting of the Stockbridge Valley Central School Board of Education will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 6:30 p.m. in room S201.
Rummage sale
New London — The New London United Methodist Church will have a rummage sale Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on County Route 50 next to the New London Fire House. The sales will feature miscellaneous items.
Pie sale
Bouckville — The Bouckville Methodist Church Pie Sale will be held Aug. 18-20 during the Antique Show. There will be several kinds of pies and baked goods, as well as ice cream and beverages. This will be at the church on Route 20 in Bouckville.
