Watercolor Society exhibit
NEWWOODSTOCK, N.Y. >> The New Woodstock Free Library will exhibit works by local artists belonging to the Cazenovia Watercolor Society (CWS) through Sept. 30. The artwork will also be on hand for the Cazenovia Art Trail Weekend, which runs Sept. 28-29 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
This year’s exhibit is different from previous ones by the society, with unique portraits, works with acrylics, and other water-based painting methods embraced.
Judy Haynes Levins, co-president of the CWS, describes the organization as “a non-profit organization with a mission to create, foster, and sustain artistic
growth and interest in watermedia.”
“CWS offersmembers opportunities to exhibit their work and develop professionally,” Levins said.
The Cazenovia Watercolor Society holds monthly meetings with guest instructors exploring a variety of techniques within the medium, as well as three day workshops with a visiting watercolor artist. Membership is open to beginners, professionals, and art enthusiasts, Levins added.
