Help The United Way to help others
Dear Friends: The United Way of Greater Oneida is once again holding its annual Kick-Off Luncheon. This year it will be held on Thursday, Sept 19 at noon at the Kallet Civic Center, Main Street. Tickets will be $15 each and it is open to the public. There will be many very nice raffle items and also a 50/50 raffle.
The United Way of Greater Oneida holds its kick off luncheon each year in September to begin the campaign to support 13 local agencies in the area. We realize that in these hard times it is difficult to give a contribution to all the people and organizations that ask you — each and every day. The unique thing about the United Way is that you can give a contribution and it will help not just one person or agency, but hundreds of people within the 13 agencies.
The board members of the United Way are dedicated people within this community who are committed to making a difference. They are your neighbors, co-workers and friends who realize that there is a great need to lend a hand.
Please consider coming to the luncheon, meeting these board members, asking questions and learning more about this wonderful organization. There will also be members of the 13 agencies at the luncheon so you will be able to meet them and get to know them and their agency. The need is great in this community and beyond. Come and enjoy a delicious lunch, possibly win a raffle and know that you are helping so many others. Development, State Attorney General, Governor and potential Presidential candidate. All Chris has is his TV show with low ratings.
As Don Corleone said in the “Godfather” to Johnny Fontane, who was lamenting his inability to get the leading role in a movie that would jump start his failing career, with a slap to the face: “Stop crying like a baby and stand up like a man.”
