It only took the stateranke­d No. 8 team a blink of an eye to capture its sixth straight win and remain unbeaten, 61-59 over Rome Free Academy.

With the score knotted at 59-59 and the game potentiall­y bound for overtime, Oneida freshman guard Jordan French sank the game-winner before being mobbed by her teammates in front of the Oneida bench.

Junior Sydney Lusher led Oneida with 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists on the evening. Junior guard Ella Rainbow netted 17 more points for Oneida, adding 4 rebounds and 2 assists, and sophomore Kaylin Curro followed with 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.

French finished with 4 points, 4 rebounds, two assists, and the biggest basket in her young career to ensure Oneida remained unbeaten heading into the holiday break.
