ONEIDA 50, CAMDEN 22>> Oneida took a 17-2 first quarter lead over Camden at home on Tuesday and never looked back in a TriValley League win. Sydney Lusher had 15 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for state-ranked No. 15 Oneida in the victory. Ella Rainbow added 13 points for Oneida in the victory, and teammate Grace Coulter chipped in with 9 points and 6 rebounds. Leandra Paul paced Camden with 10 points in the defeat.

59, CENTRAL VALLEY ACAD

EMY 56 >> VVS held off CVA late to capture a Tri-Valley League victory on Tuesday. Anna Rossi posted an 18-point, 10-assist double-double to help lead the Red Devil charge. Fellow Red Devil Morgan Brewer notched a game-high 28 points, going 9-of-9 from the foul line as VVS improved to 9-2 on the season.

HAMILTON 61, POLAND

41 >> Ashley La Ruffa had a career night for the stateranke­d No. 11 Hamilton in a victory over Center State Conference IV foe Poland, pouring in 31 points to go along with 12 rebounds.

VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 67, CENTRAL VALLEY ACADEMY 42 >> VVS shook off a pair of losses to Utica Proctor and Skaneatele­s with an impressive home win over state-ranked No. 25 CVA.

VVS and CVA battled back and forth in the first quarter as CVA had five players score. ForVVS, Alen Dedic and Bailey Janowski each scored four points and Phoenix Weydig hit a long ranged 3. The score was tied 13-13 at the end of the first period.

In the second quarter Brennan Murray scored seven points to lead CVA. Janowski, Weydig and

Bryce Palmer combined for twelve points to help lift VVS to a 30-27 lead at the half.

VVS’ defense stiffened in the third quarter and held CVA to 11 points. Troy Sutherland came off the bench and made a key three pointer and drove to the basket for two. Alen Dedic had timely blocks on CVA’s Jalen O’Neil’s drives to the basket. Palmer had seven points in the quarter including two layups off of steals to put VVS ahead 4838.

VVS pulled away in thefinal period as SamDonnell­y scored 9 points, hitting 7 of 8 from the foul line.

“We did a great job of covering CVA on the three point line as they only scored three 3 pointers,” VVS head coach Andy Cossette said.

He also credits the teams effort on the backboard as VVS grabbed 47 rebounds.

Janowski led all scorers with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Donnelly added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Palmer had another solid floor game with 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. CVA was led by Murray with 15 points, O’Neil with 13 points and Connor Trevor with 11.

VVS lifts their record to 8- 4 and will travel to Whitesboro on Friday to take on the Warriors.

MARCELLUS 62, CHIT

TENANGO 53 >> Marcellus outscored Chittenang­o 2211 in the a fourth and decisive quarter of Onondaga High School League action to pick up a win over the Bears. Matt Kershaw led Marcellus with 16 points in the victory, while Bryce Bishop paced Chittenang­o with 17.

CHITTENANG­O 3, CHRISTIAN BROTHERS ACADEMY 1 >> Chittenang­o defeated CBA 25-23, 25-16, 20-25, 25-12 on Tuesday, buoyed by SarahMarti­n’s 9-kill, 13dig performanc­e. Bayla Cutrie did a little bit of everything for the Bears, collecting 8 kills, 16 digs, 9 assists and 3 aces.

CANASTOTA3, HOLLANDPAT­ENT 0 >> A night suffering just its second loss of the season, Canastota bounced back in impressive form with a 25-19, 25-19, 25-13 dismantlin­g of Holland Patent. Ally Campell had 16 assists while directing the Raider attack. Sierra Tucci supplied Canastota with 9 kills on the evening.

VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 3, CHITTENANG­O 0 >> Evan Kirkpatric­k and Cole Winn put away 12 kills apiece to lead VVS to a 25-14, 25-21, 25-19 win over Chittenang­o. Colten Terrier added 23 assists and 10 digs for VVS, and teammate GavinMille­r supplied 11 kills and 12 digs of his own in the victory.

PROCTOR 7, VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 4 >> Proctor knocked down 3,520 pins to VVS’ 3,133 to give the Red Devils their fourth loss of the season. Kaitlyn Conte rolled a 185- 537 to lead Proctor. Sarah Lanz paced VVS with a 192-531.

CANASTOTA 4, COOPER

STOWN 1 >> Azeria Zoeckler led Canastota to a victory over Cooperstow­n, posting a 159- 412 to help fuel the Raiders. Cierra Watkins followedwi­th a 138-342 for the 5-2 Raiders.

HAMILTON 72, NEW YORK MILLS49>> Thomas Simpson knocked down four 3-pointers on his way to a gamehigh 20 points to lead the state-ranked No. 15 Hamilton Emerald Knights past New York Mills in Center State Conference IV play. Back court running mate Zach LaFrance added 16 points for Hamilton in the victory, and center Peter Klingaman contribute­d 9 points, 10 boards and 3 blocks.

ONEIDA 3, CAMDEN 0 >> Oneida dropped Camden in three straight games: 25-15, 25-17, 25-8. Jamies Jones led the Oneida attack with 12 kills, adding 3 aces and a dig for Cynthia Bobo’s Oneida side. Zoey Fox gave Oneida 18 assists, 6 digs, 3 blocks and 3 aces, while Morgan Hollenbeck added 4 kills and 3 blocks in the victory.

VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 3, EAST SYRACUSE MINOA 0 >> VVS dropped ESM in three straight sets: 25-15, 25-17, 25-15. LeeAnne Lowery was a force at the net for the Red Devils in the win, coming away with 8 kills and 7 blocks. Sadie Riggs added 16 digs, 5 kills and 2 aces for VVS in the victory.

PORT BYRON 3, CANASTOTA 2>> Canastota was unable to protect a 2-1 lead at home against Port Byron on Monday, dropping the final two games 21-25 and 23-25 in the Raiders second loss of the season. Haley Michels led Canastota, now 8-2 on the season, with 11 kills, 4 digs and 2 aces in the defeat.

ONEIDA3, MOUNTMARKH­AM 1 >> Despite falling behind 1- 0 after dropping the first game 24-26, Oneida bounced back to take the next three 25-19, 25-15, and 25-20 en route to its fourth consecutiv­e win to start the season. Zander Farr led the Oneida attack, burying 17 kills and adding 5 blocks in the victory. Lucas Candee and Spencer Leland were strong up front for coach Rik Ano, tying for a team-high 6 blocks.
