SHERRILLBI­E Debbie Morris, 55, Coral Springs, Fla., formerly of Sherrill, died Monday, July 6, 2020, at her residence, after being stricken with a sudden illness Born in Oneida, on July 25, 1964; she was the daughter of Erskin “Ernie” and Barbara Biggar Morris. A resident of Florida for the past 28 years, Debbie was a graduate of Vernon -Verona Sherrill High School and the State University of New York at Purchase with a bachelors degree in ne arts. An instructor in dance and choreograp­her by profession, Debbie owned and operated her own dance studio for many years. She danced with the New York City Ballet, the Philadelph­ia Ballet, the North Carolina Ballet, the Buffalo Ballet, the Dayton Ballet, and made appearance­s with the Mohawk Valley Performing Arts. She truly loved her career since ballet was her passion. Debbie was a member of Dance Masters of America, truly loved her family and co-workers and was of the Catholic faith, having been raised as a child in St. Helena’s Church. Surviving besides her parents, are her sister, Mary (Mark) Gould of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; her two brothers, Gregory (Kathleen) Morris of Rochester and Steve (Meg) Morris of Essex Junction, Vt.; her nieces and nephews, Jennifer Gordon of Buffalo, Stephanie Bracconeri­e of New Jersey, Megan Gould of Michigan, Evan Gould and Mark Gould, Jr., both of Colorado; an aunt, Betsy Gordon of Saratoga Springs; an uncle, Barry Biggar of New York City; and other aunts and uncles in Alabama and Florida. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, funeral services will be held at the convenienc­e of the family, from St. Helena’s Church, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend William Mesmer, pastor. Interment will be made in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Contributi­ons, in her memory, may be made to the charity of one’s choice or New York City Ballet.
