ORRIS L. DAVIS
ONEIDA- ONEIDA- Orris L. Davis, 91, formerly of Seneca Street, passed away at Bethany Gardens Skilled Living Center on Aug. 21, 2020, where he had been a resident for the past ve years. Born in Siloam, N.Y., on Nov. 14, 1928, Orris was the son of Arnold and Marjorie Fargo Davis. A lifelong resident of the area, Orris attended Stockbridge Valley Central School. He married Florence Wimmer in Munnsville on Jan. 28, 1948 at St. Francis Church. Mrs. Davis passed away on March 30, 2017. Prior to his retirement, Orris was employed with Oneida Limited Silversmiths where he operated a drop hammer and was a die setter. Orris also ran his own masonry business on the side and was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt, sh and work in his vegetable garden. He was a member of the Morrisville Garden Club, American Association of Retired Persons and former member of the Order of the Owls. Surviving are: three daughters, Darlene (Brad) Gardner of Oneida, Lynda (David) Duchene of Canastota and Patty (Mike) Vair of Gloversville; two sons, Joe (Patty) Davis of Oneida Castle and Daniel (Robin) Davis of Bernhard’s Bay; eight grandchildren, eight greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Lois Robinson and Phyllis Voelker, and two grandchildren, Michael and Timothy Vair. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020, from the Campbell-dean Funeral Home, 260 Main St., Oneida. Friends may call at the funeral home, 11 to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral.
