LAURA E. BENNETT

ONEIDA- Laura E. Bennett, 89, Hunt Valley Drive, died Friday morning, December 11, 2020, in Oneida Healthcare, surrounded by her loving family, where she had a patient for the past three days. Born in Brooklyn, on May 14, 1931, she was the daughter of Robert A. and Florence West Peter. Moving to this area at the age of  fteen years, Laura was a graduate of Vernon High School.

Prior to her retirement, Laura was employed with the former Madison County Bacteriological Laboratory. She was a devout parishioner of St. John’s Episcopal Church and a member of the church’s St. Elizabeth Guild, a charter member of the TriValley Family Y, where she taught water classes and a member of TOPS.

Surviving are her three daughters and son- in- law, Susan J. Schneider and partner, Frank Thomas, Carol J. Madonia and Lynn M. and Brian Wean. all of Oneida; her two sons and daughter- in- law, Robert L. and Patricia Bennett and Charles J. Bennett, all of Oneida; her six grandchildren, Justin, Tina, Cory, Daniel, Brianna and Alexandra; her four great- grandchildren, Addie, Marcus, Draven and Kaison; her sister and brother- in- law, Florence and George Robinson of Oneida; her goddaughter, Kelly Lanz Highers; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Wendy A. Bennett, her son, Arthur S. Bennett, her two sonsin- law, John Schneider and Sam Madonia and her brother, Arthur Peter.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday from Campbell- Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida, with the Rev. Nick Smith, rector of St, John’s Episcopal Church, of  ciating. Interment will be made in Glenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, 4- 6 PM, Thursday.
