SYLVAN BEACH- Dennis W. Fallon, was a beloved husband, wonderful father, and honest businessma­n, died Sunday, December 20, 2020 from heart complicati­ons in Upstate Hospital, Syracuse, where he had been a patient for the past seven weeks. Born in Oneida on March 20, 1941, he was the son of Wallace L. and Jane Dygert Fallon. A lifelong resident of the area, Dennis was a graduate of Oneida High School, and attended college while in the military. Dennis was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1960- 1967 in the Vietnam Era as an air traf  c controller. He received many awards, including Sailor of the Month and the Good Conduct Award. He married Mary Lou Gisondo in Oneida on February 14, 1974. They had a wonderful marriage full of love and good times. Prior to his retirement in July 1998, Dennis owned and operated Fallon’s Disposal Service in Oneida. Upon retirement, he went to school to be an electricia­n and worked for local contractor­s. Dennis went to work for Joe Farnach of Cinderella’s in Sylvan Beach and All Seasoning’s in Oneida, until the COVID- 19 pandemic. He was a member of the Order of the Owls, Oneida Nest 1606, the Hobie Cat Cluband former Blockbuste­r Car Club, took pride in his collection of antiques, the restoratio­n of old cars and had a special love for his wife, his children, and their families. Dennis was of the Catholic faith and a communican­t of the St. Mary’s of the Lake Church. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife and family. Dennis was always there to help someone in need, and he will be greatly missed. Surviving besides his wife Mary Lou are three daughters and their husbands, Laura ( Robert) Curtin of Cassville, Suzanne ( Michael Bouley) Fallon Rice of Owasco, and Blue Fallon of Canastota; his three sons and their wives, Terrance ( Kelli) Fallon of Tennessee, Tracy Fallon of Phoenix, Arizona, and Dennis W. ( Jill) Fallon II of Canastota; a special relationsh­ip with Tim Joy, Oneida, whom he loved like a son; eleven grandchild­ren, Nicholas, Catherine, Adam, Lucas, Jacob, Dava, Kevin, Guss, Alicia, Torrie, and Tanner; three great- grandchild­ren, Evelyn, Shayla, and Jade; his brother and sister in law Wally ( Robin) Fallon of Oneida; and his two sisters and brother in law, Kathy Fallon Denhaese of Canastota and Donna ( Dennis) Pynn of Chesapeake, Virginia; his aunt Patty ( Wolfgang) Moeller of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his sister, Georgianna and his granddaugh­ter, Hailey Rice. Funeral services will be held 10: 30AM Monday, January 4, 2021, from St. Patrick’s Church, Oneida, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Christophe­r Ballard, pastor.
