PETER A. DURANT SR.

Verona-peter A .Durant Sr., age 71, went to Lord on January 9, 2021 after his courageous ght with cancer.

He was born to the late Wesley and Carolyn (Nash) Durant on August 13, 1949 in Oneida, New York and attended the Vernon Verona Sherrill Central Schools.

Peter married the love of his life Sharon Liddycoat on June 29, 1968 in Our Lady of Good

Counsel Church.

He loved the outdoors, playing his banjo, listening to his bluegrass and ying his planes that he put together, both radio controlled and ultralights.

Peter worked for Power Line Constructors for thirty years until his retirement.

He enjoyed his grandchildren and his two dogs; p.j. and Lucy that were all the joys of his life.

Peter loved all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years Sharon; daughter Debra (Ryan) Tebo of Westernville, daughter Victoria (Stephen) Jones of Vernon. Grandchildren Michael (Coleen) Tebo, Brandy (Josh) Hopsicker, Tiffany (Desmond) Williams, Alyssa Durant, Kaylee Durant and Jordan Durant. Great Grandchildren, Kaedence, Mya, Carter Williams. Peyton, Liana Morak, Paisley Hopsicker and Cambrie Koor. His brothers Dale and Warren, sisters Florence, Rita, Carol, Jean and Donna.

Peter is predeceased by a son Peter Jr. and his parents, also brothers Jerry and Stanley Durant, sisters Joy Twiss and Nancy Eastman. A celebration of Peter’s life will be held at a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church, 4343 Peterboro Street, Vernon, New York, on Saturday January 16,2020 at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Nathan Brooks presiding. Spring burial will be in St. Helena’s Cemetery, Oneida, New York. In lieu of owers please send donations to St. Jude’s Hospital.
