ONEIDA– James E. Rinaldo, Sr., 85, of Maple Drive, passed away on February 25, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Oneida on August 30, 1935, he was the son of Samuel J. and Ruth Darling Rinaldo. A lifelong resident of Oneida, James was a graduate of Oneida High School. He married Norene Love in Oneida on April 13, 1968. Mrs. Rinaldo died on November 29, 2019. Prior to his retirement, James had been employed with the Oneida City School District as a custodian and had previously been employed with various grocery stores in the area, including Chicago Markets, as a store manager and with Brandy Brook Golf Course as a bartender and also helped with the general maintenanc­e and upkeep of the club and course. James was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1958-1960. He enjoyed being outdoors shing, hunting and golng and also enjoyed bowling. James was a communican­t of St. Patrick’s Church. Surviving are: one daughter, Michelle (Michael) Winton of Oneida; three sons, Fred (Gail) Jaquays and James Jaquays all of Oneida and Matthew (Jill) Rinaldo of Virginia Beach, VA; eight grandchild­ren and eight greatgrand­children. He was predecease­d by a sister, Anna Hammet and a brother, John Darling. Graveside services will be held privately in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, with full military honors.
