ONEIDA- Jeffrey S. Plantz, 58, of Oneida, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 19, 2021 at his home, with his loving Fiancee by his side. He was born on June 15, 1962 in Oneida, the son of James and June (Bennett) Plantz. Jeff graduated from VVS High School and furthered his education with MVCC, earning an Associate’s Degree, followed by graduating from Cleveland Institute of Arts, where he attained a Bachelor of Science and Arts. He was employed with Cambridge Consultants in Boston, Mass., as a Principle Industrial Designer. Jeff had a passion for his salt water sh tanks and enjoyed taking a stroll along the beach shoreline, looking for any additions he could add to his tanks. Every minute of the day, he could be found listening to his favorite program, The Sasquatch Chronicles, whether while he was working or driving the car. Jeff was extremely handy and over the years in his free time, he took pleasure in designing and building projects for family and friends in his home workshop. He was also a huge movie buff, taking time to watch anything with his family. Surviving are his loving Fiancee of 16 years, Tammi Cowen, Oneida; beloved “step” children, Joshua (Gabby) Cowen, Waterville, Kourtni Cowen, Waterville and Kaileigh (Gabe) Cowen, East Lansing, Mich., and Alexander, Austin, Avery, Aedin and Makenna Plantz, all of Colorado; grandchildren; Collin and Rory Cowen; mother, June Plantz, Sherrill; sister, Wendy (Chris) Ahles, Oneida; brother, Michael Plantz; Aunt, Marilyn, TX and nieces, Riley and Cassidy Plantz and nephew, Nick Ahles . He was predeceased by his father, James. Jeff’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Oneida Police and Fire Departments for their wonderful response time and their care and compassion. Relatives and friends were invited to calling, on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main St., Whitesboro. Funeral services commenced at the conclusion of calling hours at 12 p.m. Remembrances in Jeff’s name may be made to the Stevens-swan Humane Society or the Utica Food Bank.
