Catherine Harris Manion, 58 of White St., Waterville, NY, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstow­n, NY.

She was born on January 9, 1963 in Derby, CT, a daughter of Robert F., Sr. and Carolyn E. Waldo Harris. She received her early education in Shelton, CT and was a graduate of Waterville High School.

On July 3, 1982, Catherine married Rodney S. Manion in the First United Methodist Church in Waterville. For over 20 years, she worked in the Catering Department at Hamilton College, and then worked for the Colgate University Food Service in Hamilton until retiring. Catherine was a military wife who was active in and enjoyed her children’s activities. Her family was the primary focus of her life. She enjoyed boating and camping and was an outstandin­g Àsherman. She took great pride in caring for her home and property. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed mowing the lawn.

Surviving are her loving husband of 39 years, Rodney; her mother, Carolyn Harris of Waterville; her beloved children, Christophe­r (Bre) Manion of Utica; Stephanie (Greg) Neff of Oneida; Sarah (Clayton) Brown of Madison; her precious grandchild­ren, Emma Manion, Peyton and Brooklyn Neff; Samuel and Gracelyn Brown; her siblings, Noralee (John) Belanger of Randolph, VT; Barbara (Lynn) Staring of Oriskany Falls; Patricia (David) Jones of Solsville; Robert (Kim) Harris, Jr. of Clinton; Ronald Harris of Lacey, WA; Sandra (Ed) Ostrander of Cassville; sister-in-law, Lynda Gwilt of Deansboro; brothers-in-law, Robert Manion of Oriskany Falls; Roger (Nonie) Manion of Ballston Spa; many nieces, nephews and cousins, including her nephew and Godson, Brad Staring. She is also survived by her close friend who she considered a sister, Gail (Dennis) Geer of Whitesboro, and her dogs that she dearly loved, Gunner and Gertie. She was predecease­d by her father in 2016, and a sister-in law, Kathryn Michaud.

Services and interment in the Sangeràeld Cemetery will be held at a later date.
